Charlotta Adolfsson

Born in Uppsala, Sweden, Charlotta Adolfsson now resides in Aix-en Provence, France. Charlotta has worked in the travel and restaurant industry for almost 10 years.

While in Sweden, Charlotta worked as a night stewardess on the Seabourn Pride, a ship that earned the World's Best Cruising Ship Award in 1993 and 1994. She has served as head receptionist in charge of conferences for the Hotel and Seminary AHUS STRAND. Most recently, she has been the marketing manager for the Hotel and Restaurant GASTIGIVARGARDEN. Charlotta has been with AHI since 2000 and has directed groups in South Africa, Egypt and several European countries.

Charlotta is fluent in Swedish, French and English and can understand a little German. In her spare time, Charlotta enjoys hiking, horseback riding, swimming and other forms of exercise. Her other passions include gastronomy, wine tasting and travel.

John Powell

John Powell

A graduate of Malvern College, John Powell also earned the sought-after distinction of Licensed Guide from Great Britain early in his career. Shortly after being taken under his wing, his wealth of experience soon becomes apparent and you will know why we consider him such a valuable asset.

If you have a preconceived notion that an English guide is a “stuffed-shirt,” you're in for a pleasant surprise. While John is all business when it comes to looking after the minute details to make your trip as pleasant as possible, his sense of humor will often be more memorable than the trip itself. In fact, a passenger once wrote that he didn't care where he went on his trip, just as long as John would conduct the tour.

John's interests include the theater, ballet and dining out.

Philip Ryan

Philip Ryan

“An uncommon ability to tend to the needs of each of his charges” was the way one satisfied trip participant described Philip's attention to detail.

Philip brings to his profession an extraordinary background of experience and accomplishments. He holds a Degree in Education as well as a Masters Degree in Modern and Medieval European Languages from Cambridge University and has taught in Germany and in Spain and Mission School in Africa. Philip is fluent in six languages—French, Italian, Spanish, German, Russian, and, of course, English. He is currently studying Arabic. Philip has been a part of the AHI family since 1979.

With a German mother and Irish father, Philip is now an English citizen, but resides in Spain. He has family in the United States, Ireland, Germany and England. When he is not traveling to the far corners of the world, he enjoys history, writing, music, swimming and mountain-walking.

Enrique Travé

Enrique Travé

Born in Barcelona, Spain, Enrique Travé now resides in Burgundy, France. In Spain, Enrique earned diplomas in Hotel Management and Tourism Technique. In France, he earned a diploma in Commercial and Economic French, as well as a degree in the French language.

While in Spain, Enrique worked as a travel agent and as Public Relations Director for a Barcelona night club. Later he served as Co-Director and Marketing Manager in Catering Services at Dospimes S.A. in Barcelona and was a catering consultant for Seltz Restaurant, also in Barcelona.

Having worked as an International Travel Director with AHI since 1997, Enrique has overseen programs in several countries around the world. He is fluent in Catalan, Spanish, English and French, and has a general knowledge of Italian.

Cecilia Berry

Cecilia R. Berry

Cecilia was born in Budapest, Hungary. She moved from Hungary to Argentina and then to the United States, where she lived in Winnetka, Illinois. She also attended the University of Buenos Aires, where she pursued a degree in Spanish.

Cecilia served as a fashion coordinator and model in Chicago, Denver and Orange County. She enjoyed working for Pan American Airlines as an international purser and inflight director. Her horizons broadened even further with travel to the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Western Europe and South America.

She is fluent in English, Hungarian and Spanish and familiar with French, German and Italian. Cecilia first began her career with AHI in 1996 and became a full-time Travel Director in 1997.

Today, Cecilia lives in Indian Wells, California, where her active interests include golf and tennis; while her leisure pursuits include opera and reading. She also volunteers her time to philanthropic organizations such as the National Charity League and Opera Pacifica.

Christine Guyot

Christine Guyot

Born in Poitiers, France, Christine Guyot currently resides in Nice, France. She has served in the travel industry for over 20 years and will bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm to your program.

Throughout her long professional career, Christine has directed countless groups on a wide variety of travel programs including seminars, congresses, voyages and incentive programs. She has been an international cruise delegate and Cruise Director on the Mermoz and the Azur, France, and has served as Travel Director for incentive travel agencies in Paris. Christine has also served as a Cruise Director for Dutch, Italian, Swiss, and Greek travel companies. More recently, she spent time in China learning the language and graduated from the University of Guilin.

Christine is fluent in French, English, German, Italian and Chinese. She also speaks Spanish and Dutch.

Nadia Magarò

Nadia Magarò

Born in Florence, Nadia was educated in England. She has a degree in Political Science from Florence University, and her interest in international relations has contributed to her love of travel. As a tour manager and organizer, Nadia has enjoyed a distinguished career. She has led groups and organized conferences all over the world, and her work has enabled her to visit over 25 countries.

Her enthusiasm for the places she visits and the people she meets is readily communicated to those fortunate enough to travel with her, and her attention to all the fine details which are so important when visiting another country will undoubtedly make your traveling experience a memorable one.

In her free time, Nadia likes to entertain in her home near Florence. She also enjoys photography, scuba diving and motorcycle racing.

Fredrick Burke

Fredrick Burke

Fredrick Burke, an experienced and accomplished Travel Director, has led a diverse and interesting life. While still figuring things out at an early stage, he served in the U.S. Military for four years, and has since worked as a bartender, taxi driver, bookstore manager, restaurant manager and white water rafting guide. He has led camping adventure tour groups across the United States, Mexico and Canada.

A man of many talents, Fredrick is a licensed teacher of English, History and Geography and taught at both the high school and middle school level. He spent two years as a production assistant at Galatée Films for Jacques Perrin's film, Le Peuple Migrateur (known in English as Winged Migration). Fredrick has been an International Travel Director with AHI since 2002 and has led groups on destinations all over the world. He is fluent in English and French and has a working knowledge of German.

While at home in France, Fredrick enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children. He also likes to ski, scuba dive, swim, hike, bike and travel (of course).

Janeen Johnson

Janeen Johnson

A Chicago-area native, Janeen has enjoyed traveling since her college days. She was a French language major and German minor at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where she spent a year abroad studying in Rothenburg, Germany, and Paris and Avignon, France.

After escorting French business groups all over North America she began working with American groups, coordinating business meetings in the United States or alumni travel programs abroad. Janeen first started working with AHI in 1984—she especially loves the European programs and the opportunity to brush up on her language interests (which also include Italian, Spanish and Turkish). Wherever in the world her travels take her, Janeen ensures that those who accompany her enjoy and take advantage of all aspects of their special vacation.

Janeen's personal interests include playing piano, dancing, biking and water skiing, but she finds more of her time devoted to walking, shopping, traveling and being with people!

Pamela Rogers

Pamela Rogers

Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Pamela Rogers earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She later studied at the New York Art Student's League, the Vermont Studio School and with renowned NC artist Jaquelin Jenkins. Pamela has worked as an Interior Designer for residential and corporate clients, and has taught at arts centers and community colleges. She has also illustrated several books and has led artists' workshops in Greece since 1988.

Pamela's representational and symbolic paintings have been exhibited in North Carolina, Virginia and Greece, and have won numerous awards. Her paintings are included in private and corporate collections throughout the world, including one in Buckingham Palace. Her interest in Greece, philosophically and culturally, prompted her move to Poros in 1989, where she continues painting and studying. In her free time, Pamela enjoys traveling, writing, biking, music and dance.

Jessica E. Powers

Jessica E. Powers

A native of California, Jessica Powers has lived in Europe for the last 15 years. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and art history from the University of California at Santa Barbara she traveled to Europe, fell in love with Poros Island, Greece, and lived there for 10 years. While there she painted, worked as a tour guide and soaked up the Greek culture.

Her love for travel has taken her to many different destinations and for five winter seasons she also worked as a ski instructor in Austria. Five years ago Jessica moved to the small alpine town of Meiringen, Switzerland, where she continues to work as a tour guide as well as in art, completing a Masters program in art at the Institute for Art and Design in Lucerne.

Recently, she has had several shows of her artwork in Greece, California and Switzerland. In addition to art and travel, Jessica has a love of languages and speaks fluent German and Greek and has studied French, Spanish and Italian. In her free time, she enjoys playing music and doing many mountain sports, including skiing, hiking, rock climbing and mountain biking.

Mick Plewman

Mick Plewman

Mick Plewman has worked for several years as a tour guide in Italy. In addition to his career in the travel industry, Mick has been an Educational Psychologist in both England and Italy. He also taught English in Cortona and served as a teacher at St. Ignatius College in Enfield, England. Prior to teaching, Mick was a builder in London and a shopfitter in Jerusalem, Israel.

Mick has been working in Italy for over a decade and has been a member of the AHI family since 1999. He has led programs throughout Italy, including Cortona, Chianti, Sorrento, Orvieto, Veneto and Sicily. To quote a recent traveler, “his wry English humor coupled with his factual knowledge was the best we have encountered in our world journeys.”

Mikki Abitbol

Mikki Abitbol

Mikki Abitbol is an American and Israeli citizen who currently lives in Jerusalem, Israel. While living in the United States, Mikki attended Fordham University where she earned a B.A. in Psychology and Middle East Studies. She worked as a Sales Representative for El Al Israel Airlines and as the Director of Missions at the Jewish National Fund.

Upon moving to Israel, Mikki worked for several prominent hotels before becoming a freelance Field Representative for the tourist industry. Today, she is active in organizing and assisting tour groups. Mikki is fluent in English and Hebrew, and can also speak French.

Amalia Alayza

Amalia Alayza

Amalia Alayza was born in Lima and raised on the central highlands of Peru. She returned to Lima to study at Villa Maria High School. Although she planned on becoming a dancer, she trained with the National Tourist Bureau during the weekends and school vacations. Amalia's favorite subject is Pre-Incan Art, Crafts and Folklore. After lecturing and guiding, Amalia became a Tour Director, leading groups around Peru.

Recently, Amalia has taught at San Marcos University, where she is also taking classes. She loves her country, its history, geography and traditions and is excited to share her knowledge with you.

Ines Becerra

Ines Becerra

Born in London, England, Ines Becerra spent most of her childhood in Santiago, Chile, as a result of her father's position as an International Official for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. She also lived in the United Kingdom, and has traveled extensively in North America, South America and Europe. Ines earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Finance from Kingston University. In her professional career, she has worked in the hotel industry.

In her free time, Ines enjoys reading, gardening, music, snorkeling and swimming. She is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish. Ines also supervised and managed the cultivation of olives and sunflowers at her family's estate.

Timor Benichou

Timor Benichou

Timor Benichou was born in Israel, lived in Canada and France and currently resides in Israel again. She earned a B.A. and M.A. degree in Art History from Claude Bernard University in Lyons, France, and a D.E.S.S. in Management from HEC Montreal.

While living in Montreal, Canada, Timor lectured on Art History and worked in the field of Marketing and Public Relations. Since moving to Israel, Timor became a guide and has shared her knowledge with tour groups from around the world.

Timor is fluent in English and French, and can speak Hebrew, as well as some Spanish.

Mia Blaauw

Mia Blaauw

Born in Singapore and raised in Holland, Mia Blaauw lived in Switzerland, the United States and Rome, before moving to Athens, Greece.

In Athens she worked on paintings, tapestries and mosaics with an interior designer of a major hotel chain, eventually becoming the director of the designer's European office. Mia and her family then moved to Poros, where she opened an arts-and-crafts shop before becoming employed by the Mayor of Poros as a public relation representative to the island's foreign community. In this position, she organized events for newcomers to the island and helped them with day-to-day problems they might encounter. She also taught Greek to those residents who do not speak the language. Currently, Mia works as a tour guide.

Chiara Bracaloni

Chiara Bracaloni

A native of Tuscany, Chiara Bracaloni was born in Pisa and currently resides in Florence. After finishing her law studies at the University of Florence she began working as a tour leader, specializing in the Tuscan and Chianti regions of Italy where she has assisted travelers with her extensive knowledge of Italy. Chiara also worked during the contemporary art festival, Festival Fabbrica Europa, in 2006. She founded her own company, which interacts with cultural and tourism projects.

Chiara also enjoys studying languages. In addition to her native Italian, Chiara is also speak English and French, and has a knowledge of German. During her free time she enjoys movies, traveling and sports, especially running. Chiara has participated in several marathons around the world.

Yvonne Braxton

Yvonne Braxton

A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, Yvonne Braxton entered the travel profession working with a Johannesburg-based travel agency, which organized and operated a variety of exciting travel concepts on both land and sea.

In 1974, Yvonne spent a holiday in Italy and was captivated—she has been in Italy ever since!

Yvonne, who has spent many years in the travel industry, is a full-time Travel Director. Serving in a number of roles, Yvonne has been an integral member of many of AHI's tours in Rome, Sicily, Sorrento and Chianti.

Yvonne is multi-lingual, speaking English, Italian and Afrikaans.

In her spare time, Yvonne likes to garden and raise English Setters. Another one of Yvonne's favorite pastimes is spending time with her husband and two children.

Alejandra Cabieses

Alejandra Cabieses

Educated at the highly regarded Escuela Nacional de Turismo, Alejandra Cabieses has over two decades of experience in the tour industry. Early in her career, she spent several years teaching art history, geography and Peruvian history.

Alejandra has been welcoming and lecturing to travelers since 1986. Her expertise is widely respected and she has led groups from countries such as the United States, England and Korea. From 2003-2004, Alejandra was President of the Tour Guide Association in Lima. A native of Peru, she speaks Spanish and English fluently.

In her free time, Alejandra enjoys cooking, spending time with her husband and two children, and traveling to Europe, Central America and the United States.

Antonella Cama

Antonella Cama

Antonella Cama studied Italian Literature, Tourism and Foreign Languages before earning her diploma from the Technical Institute for Tourism in Genoa, her hometown. Along with her native Italian, she is fluent in English, Spanish and French, and can speak German. She built upon her education by frequently traveling abroad, visiting almost all of the European countries and residing in Scandinavia and the Caribbean. After working for several companies, Antonella decided to branch out on her own and pursue tourism and traveling full time.

Throughout the years, Antonella has expanded her knowledge of Italy and worked to promote the Italian Riviera by giving lectures, writing articles and through international events. She also teaches professional training courses in cooperation with the local tourism board.

In her spare time, Antonella enjoys traveling, reading, music, walking and hiking, cooking and spending time with friends.

Giuliana Cherubini

Born in Milan, Italy, Giuliana Cherubini graduated from Bocconi University, one of the most prestigious in the country, with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures. She is fluent in Italian, English, French and German, and has taught English in Italy at the high school level.

In addition, Giuliana worked as a freelance translator of art manuals and other works for publishing companies. She has also contributed her expertise on local traditions and art to articles written in various magazines. In 2001, Giuliana joined the AHI family and has proven to be a popular lecturer.

Giuliana currently lives in Milan, where Leonardo da Vinci spent over 20 years of his life, and where she can consult and study many of his original documents.

In her free time, Giuliana enjoys art, sightseeing, acting, literature and listening to opera music.

Valentina Cioffrese

Valentina Cioffrese

Valentina Cioffrese earned her degree in Foreign Literatures from IULM University of Milan. After working in the advertising industry, she became a licensed city guide for the Milan area, as well as a licensed Tour Director. In addition to working as a tour guide and conductor in Milan, she has led tours in numerous cities in Italy, including Rome and Florence. Valentina is proud to be Italian and enjoys introducing people to her country.

Valentina's interests include yoga, dogs, drama, opera, history, architecture and art. She enjoys studying and developing her knowledge in these different areas.

Simona Contarini

Simona Contarini

Born in Padua and currently a resident of Florence, travel has been a predominant interest in Simona Contarini's life. Her studies have brought her abroad to Pasadena, California; Cambridge and London, England; and Montpellier, France. She holds a degree in Modern Languages from the University of Bologna.

Professionally, Simona worked for 25 years as a tour manager and has specialized in guiding groups through the many splendors of Tuscany since 1996. She is a licensed environmental guide and a member of the Association of Environment Guides.

Simona has also taught English and worked as an interpreter. In addition to her native Italian and English, she also speaks French and Spanish.

Simona has enjoyed traveling extensively across six continents! She spends her leisure hours participating in sports—including tennis, running and hiking—seeing movies at the theater and spending time with her daughter.

Therese Cunningham

Therese Cunningham

Therese has a wealth of knowledge surrounding travel and tourism in Ireland. She received her diploma in Hotel and Catering Management from the Galway/ Mayo Institute of Technology and worked for a catering company, overseeing important events including the Papal visit. Therese also owned and managed a hotel in Ballyhaunis and a restaurant in Galway. With this experience she returned to the Galway/ Mayo Institute of Technology and became a lecturer in the Hotel and Catering Department, covering subjects like Tourism, Customer Care and Staff Training.

Recently, Therese completed the Failte Ireland National Tourist Guide Training Program. She also holds a diploma in Decorative Arts from the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers in Dublin.

Inga Marzahn-Dalton

Inga Marzahn-Dalton

Born in the German Democratic Republic, Inga Marzahn-Dalton escaped from the rule of Communism with her family at the age of five. Inga received a Baccalaureate in Economics and Language and studied in Heilbronn at the school of Economics and Tourism. She is fluent in German, English and French and also has a good knowledge of Spanish.

With almost thirty years of experience in the tour industry, Inga has led an interesting career in several countries, such as the former USSR, China and Kenya. Her specialties include serving as Cruise Director for both worldwide and European cruises. She also spent time as a safari guide in East Africa and Australia.

In her free time, Inga enjoys swimming, snorkeling and biking. She also loves nature, cooking and reading historical novels.

Paula Afonso Fernandes

Paula Afonso Fernandes

Born in Lisbon, Paula Afonso Fernandes now resides in Évora, Portugal. Her educational pursuits earned her a degree in Tourism Technics and Tourist Guide. She also graduated from the New University of Lisbon with an Anthropology degree. She pursued English and Italian language studies at Lisbon's American Language Institute and its Italian Institute.

Paula, who has spent over fifteen years in the tourism industry, acted as a guide, and has been a promoter for the Évora Tourism Board. For several years, Paula was the Assistant Director of Marketing for Quintas do Alentejo, a Portuguese group of hotels and the Sales Manager for Évora's Hotel da Cartuxa.

Meanwhile, Paula has developed her own business creating a Gourmet Tea and Coffee Shop in Évora and intends to diversify her business activities. As an added bonus, Paula is multilingual. In addition to her native Portuguese, Paula is fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

Ian Fraser

Ian Fraser

Born and raised in Scotland, Ian Fraser was educated at Elgin Academy. After completing his studies, he trained and was qualified in hydraulic engineering. Although he pursued a career in the public transport sector, he has worked in tourism for many years, predominantly as a guide.

To the delight and critical acclaim of past travelers, Ian is very knowledgeable about Scottish history and culture. He looks forward to sharing his valuable insight with you and hopes to help make your stay one you will always remember.

In his free time, Ian enjoys coaching and watching soccer, as well as socializing with friends.

Rossie Gelb

Rossie Gelb

Rossie Gelb was born and educated in Canada, but has spent the majority of her adult life in Israel, where she currently resides in Rehovot. She has also lived in Turkey, Korea and Japan. While in Japan, Rossie worked as an ESL instructor at a university in Tokyo.

Rossie is an experienced tour leader who has led groups in over 20 countries. Along with English, she can speak Hebrew, Yiddish, French and some Japanese. Rossie is always willing to go that extra mile to ensure the success of your trip.

Mara Giacomotti

Mara Giocomatti attended the University of Milan, where she earned her degree in Foreign Languages and Literature. She later received a masters degree in German. Prior to receiving her bachelor degree, Mara Giacomotti had already begun working in the tourism industry in her hometown of Verbania and at the gardens of Villa San Remigio and Villa Taranto. Since then, Mara has become a local expert, teaching about the Lake Maggiore area. Her skills have also led her to act as Campus Director for several AHI programs based in Italy.

In addition to her native Italian, Mara is fluent in English and German, and can speak French. Her interests include politics, history and philosophy. Mara enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, gardening, going to the cinema and playing sports.

Patrick Gloppe

A resident of Aix-en-Provence, Patrick Gloppe has been a part of the AHI family for many years. He has enjoyed a diverse career, and has worked as an occupational therapist in his native France, as well as in England and the United States. In addition, Patrick taught French to foreign students at the Institut d'Études Francaises pour Étudiants Étrangers in Aix-en-Provence, and he was in charge of publicity and working with directors and foreign artists at the International Festival of Cinema and Music.

In addition to his native French, Patrick is fluent in English and can also speak some German. In his spare time, Patrick enjoys traveling, the Internet, computers, chess, tennis and bridge. Patrick looks forward to sharing his wealth of expertise and knowledge of France with you.

Joannie Herbst

Joannie Herbst

Joannie Herbst has been escorting passengers around the world for over 20 years and has extensive experience and knowledge regarding European rivers and waterways.

A resident of St. Louis, Missouri, Joannie was a bilingual early childhood education teacher for many years before joining the travel industry. She also lived in Mexico for a few years while attending the National University in Mexico City. Joannie is fluent in Spanish and English.

oannie loves to travel, explore, cook and entertain family and friends in her home in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Joannie is thrilled to be a part of the AHI family and she hopes to help all passengers create lifetime memories and extraordinary experiences while on their trip.

Beata Karlikowska

Beata Karlikowska

A Polish native and a resident of Kraków, Beata Karlikowska has worked in the travel and restaurant industry for over ten years.

After graduating from the University of Kraków with a degree in Marketing and Management, Beata worked in some of Poland's finest hotels in many capacities including supervisor of a wine bar and manager of reception. In addition, Beata has served as a tour leader for a travel company based in England.

Beata is fluent in English and is continuing her studies in German and Italian. In her spare time, Beata enjoys reading, watching films, dancing, hiking and traveling.

Judy McKeever

Judy McKeever

After working for an educational software company and traveling to Australia, where she taught English, Judy McKeever returned to her native Ireland and continued her career as an English teacher. She gained her start in the travel industry by acting as a tour guide. She later worked for a prominent destination management company, where her duties included developing and selling group tours, as well as working on shore excursions for cruises and incentive programs. Judy is not only a licensed guide for the city of Dublin, she is also a national tour guide, enabling her to conduct visitors throughout all of Ireland.

In her free time, Judy is an active member of the Balally Players, and has performed at drama festivals throughout Ireland and in the United States. She also enjoys travel, photography and hill walking.

Mary Meehan

Mary Meehan

Mary Meehan has spent 25 years working in the tourism industry for both private and public corporations in Ireland and England. Her interests include gardening, walking and music.

An Irish language speaker, she has a great love and knowledge of all things Irish. She looks forward to sharing it with you.

José E. Moguel

José E. Moguel

A native of Mexico, José Moguel grew up in Mérida, where he studied Accounting at the University of the Yucatán. He also attended Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Marketing and Management, and Hotel and Restaurant Management.

José has enjoyed a diverse career in the tourism industry. He has held many different positions, including being the general manager of a major airline. He was also the director of tourism for the city of Mérida, responsible for the promotion of the city's many attractions.

In his free time, José enjoys reading, exercising and music. He speaks fluent English in addition to his native Spanish.

Anja Mortensen

Anja Mortensen

Born and raised in a small town on the Baltic Sea coast of the former East Germany, Anja Mortensen currently resides in Bremen. She holds a M.A. degree in Eastern European History with minors in both Slavic and American Studies.

While living in the Frankfurt area, she worked as a service attendant to Japanese tourists on round-trip bus transfers to Düsseldorf, and also assisted arriving and departing North American passengers as an AHI Airport Representative.

In addition to her native German, Anja is fluent in English and is conversational in Russian and French.

Her personal interests include traveling, reading, history, art history, archeology, ballet and classical and modern music.

Mary O'Donovan

Mary O'Donovan

Originally trained in nursing and counseling, Mary O'Donovan combines the nurturing aspect of these professions with her love of travel as she leads groups throughout Ireland.

In addition to her training as a nurse and midwife, Mary also received a diploma in counseling from Trinity College in Dublin. Mary has served as a Liaison Nurse Counselor for children with learning disabilities and has worked abroad in Scotland, London and Israel.

Mary's interests include history, archaeology and Irish culture and heritage. She enjoys walks in the countryside and through the cities of Ireland, exploring her remarkable country.

Jessie Lim-Pendergrass

Jessie Lim-Pendergrass

Born and raised in Singapore, Jessie currently resides in Fresno, California.

Her fourteen years with AHI as a Travel Director has taken her to all corners of the world including Europe, Asia, Africa, India, South America and the South Pacific.

Jessie believes that passengers in her care should have the best time of their lives while traveling and she always does her best to ensure that they do.

While at home, Jessie's interests include oriental art, gourmet cooking, weekend getaways and spoiling her dog.

Emiliano Rio

Emiliano Rio

A native of Argentina, Emiliano Rio has lived in Buenos Aires his entire life. He has spent several years working in the travel industry as a guide, travel director and a program coordinator for several different types of groups. He has led tours all over Argentina, Patagonia, Antarctica, Chile and Brazil. Emiliano has a love for languages, which makes it easy for him to get along with the local people. Emiliano is fluent in English, Spanish and French, and is currently learning German.

During his free time, Emiliano enjoys reading and learning, especially about art and architecture. He also loves to travel. Recently, Emiliano lived and visited France and Austria to practice the languages and learn about the cultures.

Nani Gonzalo Vargas

Nani Gonzalo Vargas

Originally from Andalucía, Nani Gonzalo currently resides in Madrid. Nani is a graduate of the University of Granada where she majored in English Language and Literature. After she finished her college education, she was awarded a scholarship from the European Union and went to Finland to teach Spanish and to be trained in Green Tourism.

In 1999, Nani began to work as a Campus Director for AHI and has led tours around Spain for many years. She has also taught English, worked at airport baggage claim and as a secretary. A few years ago, she became a local guide of Madrid, Spain's capital.

Nani's interests include playing with her two children, reading, traveling, listening to classical music and meeting new people.

Rado Zibrik

Rado Zibrik

Born in Slovenia, Rado Zibrik studied Arts at St. Edward's College in Malta and Economics and Management at the University of Oxford in England. Qualified from the Southampton Institute, he is experienced in organizing sea operations for international trading.

Early in his career, Rado served as a local guide and tour director for Kompas Travel Company in Ljubljana, Slovenia. More recently, he worked in England as a supervisor and executive of P&O European Ferries, operating both freight and passenger ferries. Rado fluently speaks a plethora of languages, which include Slovene, Croat, English, French, Italian, German and Arabic.

When he is not working, Rado enjoys reading, playing the harmonica, running marathons and badminton.
